Gaming Podcast - Condensed Version

by jschommer@techdiversions.com (Derrick & Jennifer Schommer)
This is a Gaming Podcast lite episode, it's got less calories because we're right in the middle of travel plans heading to New Orleans for Tales of the Cocktail (conference). This is also the reason the show is going out late this week as I'm posting it from a hotel room with crappy wifi, but we did it... we got it done. I'm keeping the show notes simple this week because we're rushed for time.

Game Hounds - I Said Zip It!

by gamehounds@gmail.com (Cooper Hawkes and Edie Sellers)

microphoneWe are delusional, and don't a single one of you point it out to us!

This week, Holy Goalie and Edie Sellers are joined by a very, very sane Tony of The Rumble Pack to review news of the week. On the other side of the table, Goalie and Edie are raving, barking mad. Want proof, just listen.

In their lucid moments, topics include:

  • Screenshots of the supposedly leaked new Xbox Dashboard appeared (titled the Berlin dashboard), and then disappeared, on the internet. How real are they? The world may never know.
  • Activistion Publishing (not Activision Blizzard) got a new CEO this week, and he's the brains behind the Kevin Butler campaign for Sony.
  • Sony updates its Terms of Service, which now includes a disclaimer for a host of symptoms attributable to extended exposure to 3D.
  • Microsoft releases Game Pack 007 for Game Room. Yawn.
  • A Lionhead producer says that there will be nearly a half million lines of dialogue in the new Fable 3.
  • Amazon Germany posts pre-orders for a new Xbox Arcade bundle, priced at 149 Euros.
  • Wal-Mart posts pre-orders for a Kinect bundle (with one game) for $200.
  • Driver San Francisco delayed to 2011.
  • Curt Shilling moves to Rhode Island and says he has a deal with Electronic Arts for a new game series.
  • Email, shout outs, and more.

Enjoy.

Gaming Goons - Games Galore (Update)

by dsimpson@thegameraccess.com (David Simpson)

Gaming Goons

As you all know E3 is dead and gone and now it's back to business. There are a lot of new games coming down the pipe for the next 9 months, some look real good, others no so much. Regardless gamers should be very happy because the more options the better, when they release more games we all win. We tried to keep the show down to about 3 hours but this one ran for about 4 hours so bare with us and listen to the show in smaller parts if you can. We are going to try a new format starting next week and we are also going to keep the shows to a 3 hour maximum from here on out. You know what to do so get to it. The MP3 download and stream are located directly under the topics. The new iTunes link is above the shows topics.

It’s finally up. Despite my computer’s best attempts to delete all the audio files and my house’s attempt to drive me insane by losing power in the middle of post-production, I’ve finally managed to put together this week’s Video Game Podcast. Chris and I talk for nearly 90 minutes about video game sales, the future of the industry, OnLive, and other assorted nonsense. While downloading the podcast, continue reading below for the sales charts for the last four weeks (all data comes from VGChartz.com) as well as a list of the games that came out last week and this week (including trailers where available).

Finally we get through the lion's share of what we saw at E3.

microphoneIn this episode, Hawkes, Goalie and Edie finish up the Big Three by mulling the Kinect and dissecting what Nintendo brought to the table. Then then launch into a review of the games Edie saw at E3, including:

  • Rock Band 3;

  • Kane and Lynch 2;
  • Fallout New Vegas;

  • Fable 3;
  • Dance Central;
  • Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood;
  • Tron Evolution;
  • GoldenEye 007;
  • Lara Croft and the Guardians of Light;
  • Brink;
  • Hunted: The Demon's Forge;
  • Vanquish;
  • Conduit 2;

Gaming Goons

What's going on everybody, the Goons are back for a special edition of Gaming Goons to talk about the highs and lows of E3 2010. We've done a lot of E3 talk here on the site but I wanted to see what the rest of the Goons thought about it. We talk about what we are all looking forward to and what we aren't looking forward too. Check out the show and let us know what you thought about E3 2010. The MP3 download and stream are located directly under the topics. The new iTunes link is above the shows topics.
